Review Process
Every submission is reviewed by members of the technical programme committee on four criteria, applied equally to theory, computation, experiment, devices and systems. Authors are notified on 3 February 2027.
The four criteria
- Scientific quality: are the methods, analysis and conclusions sound?
- Originality: is there a new result, concept, method or clear advance?
- Significance and relevance to AES: does the work matter to this community?
- Clarity: are motivation, results and conclusions presented clearly enough to be reviewed?
Two pages and four pages are judged on the same criteria; a shorter paper is expected to make its contribution just as identifiable.
How a submission is handled
- 01Screening
The conference office checks the format, the page count, the author list against the PDF, and screens for plagiarism and duplicate submission.
- 02Review
The paper is assigned to reviewers of the technical programme committee for its research track, symposium or special session. Reviewers treat submissions confidentially and declare conflicts of interest.
- 03Decision
The committee accepts or declines on the four criteria. Authors are notified on 3 February 2027. There is nothing to upload after acceptance: the reviewed paper is the published one.
- 04Presentation format
Once the programme is drafted, the oral or poster assignment is communicated, possibly in a separate message. The programme is published on 19 February 2027.
Oral or poster
You may state a preference for an oral or a poster presentation. The preference cannot be guaranteed and may be communicated separately from the acceptance. Assignment reflects scientific content, thematic fit, programme balance, diversity and the time available, and is not a ranking of scientific quality.
Both formats are peer-reviewed presentations of the same contribution, published in the same proceedings. A poster session gives an unhurried conversation with the people who came for your topic.

Invited presentations
Invited presentations are limited to one per presenting author; the limit applies to the presenter, not to co-authors or submitters. A co-author may be designated as the presenting author of a second paper. Invited contributions are reviewed on the same criteria and are at least one page.
Publication
Accepted papers that are registered and presented are included in the AES Conference Proceedings, ISSN 2491-2417, indexed in Scopus. One paid registration may cover a maximum of two accepted papers for which the registrant is a co-author.
