Special Sessions
A special session gathers presentations on one focused or fast-moving topic. It is proposed by one or more organisers, who invite the speakers and chair the session. Proposals for AES 2027 are open.

Confirmed sessions are listed here with their title, organisers and topics, and their invited speakers as confirmations are received. AES 2026 in Catania hosted 13 special sessions.

- Frame an emerging topic while it is still taking shape.
- Connect communities that do not usually meet: theory and measurement, microwaves and optics, universities and industry.
- Give a subject a stage of its own inside the programme, with a dedicated track in the portal.
What to include

Short and specific.
- 02Scope
A few lines on the scientific theme and why it matters now.
- 03Organisers
Names and institutions of one or more organisers, who will chair the session.
- 04Prospective speakers
A preliminary list of researchers you intend to invite.
Send the proposal by email; the button above prepares the subject line. Proposals are considered as they arrive, and a session should be confirmed early enough for its speakers to submit before 20 January 2027.
What organisers undertake
- invite the speakers and confirm their participation;
- make sure every invited speaker submits a contribution of at least one page through the portal by the deadline;
- help review the contributed papers submitted to the session;
- chair the session in Athens.
Organisers and invited speakers register and pay the fee of their category; an invitation carries no fee waiver unless the organisers have confirmed an individual arrangement in writing. One invited presentation per presenting author.
For invited speakers
Use the submission guidelines and the important dates for author requirements. Invited contributions are at least one page, with the official template, through the session track of the portal, by the same deadline.
