Symposia
A symposium is a thematic strand of several sessions built around one subject, with its own chairs and invited speakers, running inside the main programme. Proposals for AES 2027 are open.

Symposia to be announcedWhat a symposium is
A symposium gathers several sessions on one front of the field, from theory to application, and is curated by two or more chairs who invite the speakers and set the programme of the strand. It has its own submission track in the author portal, so contributed papers can be submitted to it directly, and its invited speakers submit through the same track.
How to propose one
- 01Write the proposal
A title; a scope of a few lines; the names and institutions of the chairs; the topics covered; a preliminary list of prospective invited speakers; the number of sessions envisaged.
- 02Send it by email
To the organisers, with the subject line prepared by the button above. Proposals are considered as they arrive.
- 03Confirmation and listing
Once accepted, the symposium is listed on this page and opened as a track in the author portal. Speakers then submit their contributions before 20 January 2027.
What chairs undertake
- invite the speakers and confirm their participation;
- make sure every invited speaker submits a contribution of at least one page through the portal by the deadline;
- help the technical programme committee review the contributed papers of the symposium;
- chair the sessions in Athens and keep them to time.
Chairs and invited speakers register and pay the fee of their category; an invitation carries no fee waiver unless the organisers have confirmed an individual arrangement in writing. One invited presentation per presenting author.
Invited speakers
Invited speakers submit a contribution of at least one page, with the official template, through the symposium track of the portal and by the same deadline as contributed papers. An invitation does not replace submission: every presentation has a contribution in the proceedings.
