Half Day Sightseeing of Marrakech

A tour of Marrakech is a great way to experience the colors, sights and cultures of this beautiful city. The Historic visit of Marrakech will include the Menara, a magnificent pool surrounded by flowers, reflecting the image of a beautiful Moorish construction built in 1866 for the dignitaries. The tour will see several impressive sights: The Koutoubia Minaret (the twin tower of La Giralda, the Great Mosque of Seville in Spain), the Saadian tombs demonstrating Moorish architecture in its perfection. The Bahia Palace still hosts dignitaries in the heart of the Mellah (Jewish quarter) then a walk through the colorful souks of Marrakech and Djemaa El Fna square: the ancient meeting point of the tradesmen in Northwest Africa, with its entertainers, singers, dancers, acrobats, jugglers, story-‐tellers, public-scribes, soothsayers, medicine-men, dentists, snake-charmers!

Full Day Excursion to Ouarzazat

Departure to Ouarzazate through the Tizi n' Tichka pass, crossing the high Atlas at 2260 meters. All along the road you will discover beautiful Berber villages. Few kilometers after the Tichka you will leave the main road for the Telouet track; the Telouet Kasbah is the highest Kasbah in Morocco and used to be the house of El Glaoui, Pacha Of Marrakech in the 1930s. The track will then go down to Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, this fortified village is classified as a UNESCO world heritage site. This village has been filmed on many movies such as Lawrence of Arabia, ‎The Jewel of the Nile, Cleopatra,... Few kilometers away and you will arrive at Ouarzazate, the gate to the Sahara!

The first thing you notice as you approach Ouarzazate is a massive shining beacon of light. Radiating from something similar to a modern lighthouse, the world’s largest solar power complex towers above the desert. By 2020, Morocco wants to provide 50% of its energy from renewable sources. This would make it a global leader in the field.

But, Ouarzazate is also the leader in another dazzling field. Atlas Studios has been churning out Hollywood blockbusters since 1983. Over 200 movies have been filmed in this landscape, including, Gladiator, Ben Hur, The Mummy, Passion of Christ, Black Hawk Down and Game of Thrones.
