Should you be interested in organizing a Special Session at AES 2025, please contact us at contact@aesconference.org. Sessions of similar topics may be proposed, if needed we will schedule them at different slots over the conference period.

See example of sessions proposed at AES 2024 here: AES 2024 special sessions.

SP1. "Towards high frequency electromagnetics scattering problems for imaging, sensing and communications"

Organizers: Loreto Di Donato (University of Catania, Italy) & Maria Antonia Maisto (Università della Campania "L. Vanvitelli", Italy) & Shaimaa Elseddiq Elghetany (Port Said University, Egypt & University of Catania, Italy)

The session will explore inverse scattering theory and its applications, ranging from conventional microwave frequencies to higher-frequency regimes. It aims to address the challenges, complexities, and potential of next-generation sensing and imaging systems, as well as their integration with communication systems. Both theoretical approaches and emerging applications will be addressed.

SP2. "Light Engineering at the Nano-Scale: Insights from Plasmonics and Metamaterials"

Organizers: Piotr Piotrowski (Centre of Excellence ENSEMBLE3 & University of Warsaw, Poland) & Emilija Petronijević (Sapienza University of Rome, Italy)

This session explores the advancements in nano-scale light manipulation, focusing on the interplay between plasmonics and metamaterials. The discussion will cover new designs, theoretical approaches, and experimental techniques that push the boundaries of optical engineering. Applications in sensing, imaging, and photonic devices will also be highlighted, showcasing the potential and challenges in this cutting-edge field.
